If you’re feeling sad or depressed, you’re not alone.
I can help you identify what’s going on, and determine what needs to happen in order for you to feel better.
Sadness is a natural and temporary response to difficult times and situations. It’s a feeling we feel (sometimes very deeply) while we continue on with our lives.
Depression, on the other hand, interferes with your life. It gets in the way of work, home, school, relationships, and other important things. There are several types of depression and mood disorders, and once we assess what’s going on for you, we’ll choose a course of treatment to help you feel better.
Some of the symptoms associated with depression include:
- feeling down
- problems with sleep
- problems with appetite
- irritability
- problems with memory
- decreased motivation
- low energy
- feeling guilty or ashamed
- losing interest in things
People with Bipolar Illness might also experience typical symptoms of mania (days at a time without sleep – without missing it, feeling on top of the world, and over-the-top actions and behaviors) or atypical symptoms of mania (unbearable irritability, anger and frustration over many things, or feeling painfully out of sorts)
