You deserve to work with a counselor who really specializes in you. Someone with the training and experience necessary to help you get the most out of your efforts to feel better and achieve your goals.
For over 25 years, I’ve been helping people who’ve had it with feeling anxious or depressed; people who are grieving; people who keep sabotaging themselves and their relationships with others; and people who are tired of watching life pass them by because they feel stuck in the past or paralyzed in the present.
We work together to identify and address the source of your pain or discomfort. We focus a lot on the symptoms and behaviors that are now getting in your way. You learn how to separate past from present, putting you in a much stronger position to utilize healthier skills and coping strategies to manage your distress. We take advantage of your body’s innate ability to heal. And most of all, you learn to do this with a heart of self-compassion and love.
Many of my clients feel more confident and fulfilled by taking their lives back from anxiety, depression, trauma or grief Others are experiencing more success on the job and in their relationships with the important people in their lives. They find clarity about what is really important, and they gain the skills needed to feel strong and centered. My clients know that no matter what they are facing, they are not alone.
Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to treat thousands of clients with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, grief, and difficult life changes. I am a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional – Level 2,, and I use that expertise to help clients who have trauma-related mood disorders and/or Borderline Personality Disorder.
Over the years I’ve supervised other clinicians and educated mental health counselors to effect real and lasting change for their clients. Although I am retired from teaching, I continue to train and educate mental health professionals from all over the world.
